UM6P located in the center of the future Green City in Ben Guerir, 70Km from Marrakech. UM6P institution of higher education with an international vocation, is committed to an education system based on the highest standards in teaching and research in areas crucial for the sustainable economic development of Morocco and more broadly Africa. UM6P builds a renowned international academic network and wishes to rely on a very high-level faculty. The academic system adopted (« Learn by Doing » or learning by practicing), the African vocation claimed with the ambition to train the continent’s elite, the bias towards renewable energies and entrepreneurship, the projected capacities (6,000 students by 2025), are all elements able to guarantee this temple of research, which attracts more and more teachers from the Moroccan diaspora. Facilities include laboratories from different and multiple disciplines, mainly those of biology and chemistry dedicated to soil analysis, bioprocess, plants and microbiology, material science and nanotechnology, digital and robotics.
INRA-UMR IATE is internationally recognized for its skills in the dry fractionation and physical deconstruction of biomass, plant protein structuration, food technology & processing. IATE is involved in the better understanding and modeling of dry fractionation of agro-resources, mainly applied to cereal grains and lignocellulosic material. IATE is involved on the development of new combined and innovating processes of pretreatments of the lignocellulosic biomass such as physical, chemical or enzymatic, ultra-fine grinding, reactive extrusion. UMR IATE has a plant agro-resources processing platform (PLANET) gathering different innovative technologies to process biomass ranging from gram to kilogram in batch and continuous processes.
UMR Eco&Sols is a joint research unit. It gathers 70 permanent staff, 50 being based in Montpellier, 25-40 students (Master or PhD), and 5-10 short-term contract technical staff and postdoctoral fellows. UMR Eco&Sols’ research effort aims at better understanding the processes of biotic regulations of the biogeochemical cycles of carbon and nutrients (mainly N and P) in low-input agroecosystems, especially in the context of Mediterranean and tropical countries. Understanding these processes is used for the purpose of evaluating agroecological practices and moving towards an ecological intensification of agroecosystems. It has several heavily instrumented experimental sites accross the world to monitor carbon, water and nutrients fluxes in the field.
INRA-LCA Toulouse Institut National Polytechnique (INPT) is the legal support of Laboratoire de Chimie Agro-Industrielle (LCA). LCA is one of the most recognized laboratories in the field of agro-refineries in France. LCA members provide a high expertise on Life Cycle Thinking and related advanced methods (LCA, LCC, S-LCA…) to assess the impact of products and innovative processes within the frame of sustainability and have know-how on well-established and inner research tools and databases.
INRA-LBE is a specialist of environmental biorefining, studying and designing processes to treat and valorize of waste linked to human activities (e.g. liquid effluents, solid wastes e.g. agricultural residues, household wastes and sewage sludge) or specific biomasses, such as micro or macro-algae. In Hi-Solids, LBE scientists will be in charge of mass transfer and physical characterization of bioconversions process at high solid loadings. LBE has been working on anaerobic digestion for more than twenty five years, and is internationally-recognized for its excellence in this field. The researchers involved in Atlass project have a strong expertise in high solids anaerobic digestion and fermentation processes.
French private technology center in environment and risk control based in Aquitaine (Pau, Lescar, Tarnos, and Bordeaux) – works in the field of circular economy and energetic transition. Our institute is composed of three main areas: prevention, innovation and valorization parts. APESA’s strength lies in our team made of engineers, researchers, specialized technicians, environmental and security jurists. We have obtained the ISO 9001 (2015 version) and 14001 (2015 version) certifications and is certified CRT: technological eco-innovation resource center. APESA Technical platform (laboratory and outdoor platform) is the experimental support of the valorization group. With nearly 15 years of experience in the field of waste valorization and more particularly biomass, the Valorization group uses its technical Platform to carry out experiments aiming to validate the feasibility, to optimize the dimensioning and to help our customers to decide on their best industrial solutions.
