Development of Bioprocess for Wastes and Biomasses Valorization
Production of Bioenergy and Biofertilizers: Transition toward to Circular Bioeconomy
Our goals & key research challenges
The ATLASS project has for objective the development of an environmental “bio-refinery” concept in cascade allowing the identification and innovation of new technologies and approaches in order to optimize the valorization, recycling and management of various Moroccan wastes and biomasses privileging the circular economy concept.
The ATLASS project is based on a comprehensive approach integrating sustainable development and circular economy in all its value chain. This last includes the classification of different wastes and biomass according to their origin and geographical location, the implementation of processes and their optimization in laboratory scale, as well as the proof of concept by pilot implementation in a representative environment.
In this project, various technologies, approach and topics will be developed and evaluated:
Energy, biochar & digestate
Production via Anaerobic digestion & Pyrolysis
Agro-industrial effluents & wastewater treatment using microalgae & biochar
Coating & formulation of mineral fertilizers with biopolymer
Biofertilizers based on biochar & digestate formulation
Biofertilizers & Biostimulants based on microalgae formulation
